About the Author
Let me introduce myself and hopefully upon finding out a little more about whom I am and how I think, possibly you may appreciate more of my thoughts and values? I have had a few people ask if I was a pastor or some type of preacher and of course I would have to answer that question with, “Nope, I’m definitely not a preacher or a pastor. They certainly know the Bible better than I.” And I have had others think that my background may include education and training in perhaps the field of psychology or something like that. Again I would have to tell them, “No, I’m not one of those guys either!”
So now that you know what I am not, let me tell you what I am; just a regular plain ole guy who gets up every morning and goes to work to struggle to pay the bills and put food on the table – just like so many others out there in this world.
Writing is sort of a hobby of mine but has become more of a second unpaid job, but my primary job has been to undertake God’s plan for me to be a husband and a father. As the oldest son has departed to strike out in the world to follow his own direction, my wife and I are left with the tremendous responsibility and joy, in raising three other sons.
Wow! What a task that is in this world of ours today, and like so many other of you parents out there, you know exactly what I’m saying. My lovely wife, Irene, and I are unyielding with our intentions and goals to raise our boys in a sound Christian environment with good Christian values and judgments but it seems overwhelming at times.
Endeavoring to live my life within the boundaries of which I refer to as a Christian Code of Honor, my writings bolster good common sense principles. All of these principles are right there in the Bible for us to see, to learn from, and to practice, if in fact we really want to call ourselves followers of Christ. I try to write as if I might be having a conversation with you rather than looking for all sorts of fancy ways to impress you with my literary genius, of which I have none. I have never been cited as being too preachy, but have had some readers be offended by some of my more direct, straight forward, sort of “slap you in the face” type of commentary. Unfortunately all of us, including myself need a jolt of reality from time to time.
Now the editorial style of journalism is not my forte. I would rather remain writing that of which I really enjoy; Christian fiction, Christian Science fiction novels, and short stories. But as I feel I have been given guidance from God and several different clergy members to continue with this particular undertaking, I will do so. Obviously you may see that I am new to this web design and planning but I am learning, so bear with me if you find a mistake or two along the way.
Anyway, I am very confident in the fact that after reading in this site, you will be well convinced as to what I really stand for, and believe in. If any of my passages manage to help even just one person, even if it is in the minutest way; I will feel as if this all of this has been worthwhile.
Enjoy the site and as always, feel free to contact me if you have any comments, suggestions, or anything else you may like to share with me.
May God bring Blessings to your day and to all the days to follow,
Phillip E. Sorant
